Spaceship Museum?

Symposium on Early Childhood Cultural Education in the Context of the Museum and the Daycare Center (in German)
Colorful graphic: a white question mark floats in an imaginative landscape.

Symposium on March 11 & 12, 2024 (in German)

The Spaceship Museum”, traveling in a universe of infinite possibilities with the child at its center: What challenges are encountered on this journey?

Museum staff, facilitators, educators and education specialists are invited to take part in lectures, practical demonstrations, discussions and workshops. Together, we will focus on methods and formats of co-determination and communication.

What options for steering the Spaceship Museum” can the various stakeholders create? What options do children want? What facilitates lasting experiences? How can spaces for learning and adventure be designed together? What role do artistic approaches play in this? How do cultural education programs and projects support children in a way that is age-appropriate, process-oriented and open-ended? How do the home, social and museum environments intertwine?

As a result of social change, tasks and spaces are shifting toward more democratic co-determination and the assumption of responsibility by young children. The Spaceship Museum is headed for sustainable goals: participation and cooperation are already in the logbook. It’s time for the practical test!

Information on the program and registration will be sent out at the end of January 2024.

The symposium on early childhood cultural education in the context of the museum and daycare centers is an event of the Jewish Museum Berlin and the Bauhaus_RaumLabor Cooperation: Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung, Jugend im Museum e.V., Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus.
